Weather Forecast: Soapy
Dan Terdiman of Wired News reports on NOAA providing their local weather forecasts via a SOAP interface. A sample page is available here -- with a source input of lat/long.
The article focuses mainly on the role of companies such as Accuweather in lobbying to avoid such general and open access. Sure seems like a simple thing to build to have a direct contact from a GPS position direct to the NOAA server...
